Actually it is not too bad, just takes some time.

Before you start to relace the head gasket, double check the valve cover to see if there is any crack.  And make sure you have tightened the valve cover bolts to the specific torque.

Based on your description of what you have done, you should have enough skill to replace the head gasket. Have fun.
