1. How to determine seperation date of a couple? from the day they live seperately? or from the day the file a offical seperation document? For example, if the couple lived seperately starting from May 1, 2023 without notifying the court. Is the seperation date May 1, 2023?

2. If one spouse is unemployed, she/he will get 50% of the employed spouse's 401K. Is this an complicated process? do they have to hire a professional to do the work?
