Can't offord Leica M series, I am looking for an alternative

Hi, all:

First time post here. Pls pardon me if I asked some basic questions.

I am an architect. With my daily work and my interests to record my life, I would like to have a high quality comapact camera to be with me most of time. I am thinking of FUJI x100 or similar cameras. But I doubt they would provide zoom lenses. Anyone has a feasible suggestion for me?
