In the US, workplace violence, including that directed towards doctors, is a significant concern, with many healthcare workers experiencing some form of violence. The Bureau of Labor Statisticsreports that 10.4 out of 10,000 healthcare workers experience workplace violence. Studies show a substantial increase in violence against healthcare workers since 2019, with many reporting experiencing violence in recent years. For example, a 2021 survey found that 24% of women and 22% of men physicians had been harassed on social media.
