12,800 kilometers apart,
Between two cities, we’re worlds away.
Through those hardest years by far,
The road home felt too long to stay.
Early spring mornings bring a chill,
A glance above reveals pink buds still.
I recall the white magnolia tree by our door,
Oh, she’s lived longer than me, standing tall evermore.
Is she still blooming in her place,
Spreading fragrance with her graceful embrace?
New York has seasons bold and clear,
While my hometown trees wear green all year.
From this faraway place, return seems far too far,
So I write these words, hoping to close the distance.
March’s breeze is cool in New York’s spring,
Guangxi’s rivers bloom with new green leaves.
In Manhattan, magnolias begin to bud,
When will the white magnolias in Nanning bloom again?
When will the white magnolias in Nanning bloom again?
