Sharing a *local* scam call I got today.
The number shows up as (718) 626-9311 and I googled it right away saw it's the number listed for 114th Precinct, so I picked up...
Immediately I found it weird because the allegedly officer identified himself as " Josh Robinson" whose name is not listed anywhere on the website. Plus he was talking really fast like he's reading a script. Then he transferred me to his "supervisor" which sounds like the same person.
The supervisor said they found a car under some bridge registered to my social and they found illegal sustenance inside and continued to read the script for 30 seconds. He asked me to verify my address and provided me two to pick from: one is correct and the other one in Brooklyn.
At this point I already know it's a scam - although I'm not sure what they want - so I picked the address that is not mine and said I live in Brooklyn now. Then he started mumbling about I don't know what he looks like and that he f***d me before and I need to watch it...blah blah blah threatening insults for females then suddenly hung up.
Please be careful everyone, even the number shows up as a legit organization doesn't mean anything anymore.
p.s. The scam part I'm okay to disregard, but the insults and threats are really bothering me. I really hope there is something I can do to make those guys feel the same way...not to get too dark....
