for small noncritical parts/devices like diodes/on-off switches etc you can get chinese made, but for critical stuff, better look else.
i recently happened to search for a 20ft telescoping ladder, looked through amazon, as only i saw it's a chinese brand/non-brand, i just passed. not to say those manufacturers in china are not serious with their products, but the materials they are using could be defective or with subpar quality and they even don't know it. our safety relies on this thing when up in the air, i could lose my life or get big medical bills if it ever collapses. i can see that there is mentality factor but there is a national standard issue too (for example their electrical wires are always too thin comparing with AWG - it could get too hot and induce a fire, but they say that's their industrial standards).

last year i bought 2 flex solar panels from a chinese seller on amazon, it specified 200w each. at the time there was only one review with 5 score. i bought and installed them on my car. well, i noticed they output max about 40% of the claimed watts. days ago i bumped onto it and saw many more reviews, most say the seller is lying the specs it is actually a 100w or 120w panel the max. the average cores now is 3.3 out of 5. if given a choice knowing what i know now i would never have purchased them. lessons learned.
