越來越多證據，這次事件是安提法（Antifa）挑起，現場視頻可聽到特朗普支持者對帶頭砸窗的人大聲喝斥“安提法”，並將那人拉下。《華盛頓時報》（The Washington Times）報導，開發麵部辨識係統的XRVision公司利用其人臉辨識軟件，對闖進國會的人分析發現，兩名男子應是費城的安提法成員，其中一人有紋身，紋身圖樣表明他支持斯大林主義。當然，安提法挑起事端後，一些不明真相的特朗普支持者也被裹挾了進去。
安提法的真正名稱是“美國革命共產黨”（Revoluntionary Communist Party，USA），它和“黑命貴”背後有中共資金支持甚至策劃組織，去年夏天他們火攻白宮的視頻中可聽到有華人用標準的普通話喊“快走，走走走”，中共駐華盛頓大使館的張姓武官似乎在現場指揮。這次事件，背後也很可能有中共，大家拭目以待。
