This collection is for all the doctors and nurses who have been working day and night on the frontline of fighting the pandemic. We are thinking of you. Thank You and God Bless!

 

Each dish has an English name next to it and an accompanying poem that I wrote. I cooked all the dishes. Please feel free to share this with doctors and nurses that you know, who are the unsung heroes in the war against Covid pandempic. Thanks!

                          

 

1。慢鍋燉牛肉 （slow cooked beef stew)

                  秋風寒雨透心涼，
                  世事紛繁雪上霜。
                  總有玉肴溫腑髒，
                  微燒慢煮一鍋香。

 

 

2。墨西哥春餅 (chicken fajitas)

 

     【七絕】仙肴一包香 （七陽）

 

              紅黃橘綠甜蔥白，
              玉指鮮絲武火煬。
              涎水豈垂單色秀，
              仙肴妙在一包香。

 

 

 

 

3。紅燒豬蹄 (braised pork trotters)

 

  【七絕】   2020選舉日 啃 （十二侵）

            
                  數到雞鳴昏欲睡，
                  紅藍未決淺傷心。
                  小民自有佳肴慰，
                  香軟紅酥手慢斟。

 

 

 

4。薺菜餃子 (jiaozi made of Shepherd's purse)

 

    【七絕】春日采薺 （一先）
      

           漣漣春雨滋苗潤，
           田野村童采薺鮮。
           莫道農家塵福淺，
           幾籠美餃賽神仙。

     【故鄉的味道】

 

 

蔥絲的青綠 讓我想起

三月裏滿城悠然飄蕩的柳枝

紅酥透明的皮 多汁的嫩肉

莫不是 圓明園的裙影裏 

一個少女悄悄采摘 藏匿的荷花？

那一槳槳撩起的春水啊 

似蘇梅醬的甜 又如海鮮醬的鹹 

多像那個搖曳歲月的滋味

 

 

三十年後的今晚 

我將它們全部裹進

一張潔白如雪 薄如茯苓的春餅裏 

就著一瓶青島啤酒 

紮紮實實地咬了一口

 

 

東長安街的人流裏

再一次看到那張年輕的臉

急切走來的腳步

故鄉的味道 ——

為此 煙熏火燎了兩個小時

值了

匆忙 喧囂的世界

關上門

靜靜地 煮一碗

紅棗蓮子枸杞紫米粥

 

願天下的平民百姓

都可以 

將主義 黨派 國安關在門外

在自己的屋簷下 

喝一碗養心安神粥

 

感恩健康，感恩活著

 

 

紅棗蓮子枸杞紫米粥。養心安神，補血健脾，滋補肝腎。記得小時候姥姥家的門前種了枸杞子，紅紅的果子爬滿了門框，很漂亮。

 

 

 

9。餃子 (jiaozi made of pork, fish, shiitake mushrooms, chives)

女兒花了三個小時給您做的
餃子稍微有點大 您慢慢吃 別噎著
天堂裏什麽都有

小時候 最喜歡過春節了
因為知道 您就要回家看我們了
我們圍在一起包餃子
我的餃子皮擀得越來越快
整一年啊 都在等您的那句誇獎

 
您還會在餃子裏放個辣椒
看女兒們吃了會不會哭 
是不是足夠堅強
您現在不用放辣椒了，她們已經學會
笑著品嚐人間的各種滋味

 
隻是 今天的蔥還是很辣眼睛
餡裏都不用加鹽了
 
 
 
       
         
        

 

 

 

 
10。蜜汁菠蘿烤火腿 (honey glazed ham with pineapples)

 

             【Easter 2020】

 

Today we celebrate Easter，as usual.

We have honey glazed ham with pineapple,

Stuffed  lamb leg，and soft sweet roll.

We will also enjoy cinnamon crum cake，

Wine, flower，and candle.

But, above all, we have hope,

Hope for a peaceful world, and 

Life soon back to normal.

 

 

      【2020年複活節】

 

今天我們會像往常一樣慶祝複活節。

我們有蜜汁菠蘿烤火腿，

夾心羊腿，和柔軟的甜麵包。

我們還會享用肉桂蛋糕，

酒，花, 和蠟燭。

但是，最重要的是，我們有希望，

希望有一個和平的世界，

生活很快恢複正常。

 

 

 

11。佛的喜悅 (Buddha's delight)

 

到處都是壓抑的信息。花了兩個小時做這個Buddha’s Delight，鮮，爽，脆，甜，好吃極了。需要寫首詩配這道菜。

似乎素食的動物長得都很漂亮，比如梅花鹿，小鳥。。。相比之
下，食肉動物，獅子，狼。。。顏值，是不是差點兒？

 

 

 

12。四個防毒養肺素菜 (four dishes detoxing and cleansing, good for lung health)

黃花木耳雞蛋，涼拌花生芹菜，辣椒海澡菜，香菇豆腐，

 

 

外加一個鮮桃做的甜點, dessert made of fresh peaches from my own peach tree that I planted: peach cobbler with pecan & cream cheese

Bonus Dish: Baozi (extra large sized ravioli), my all time favorite 

 

As a Chinese who grew up in Northern China, Baozi is one of my favorite dishes. We could call it "extra large sized ravioli". There are different types of Baozi with various fillings. The most common one is made of grounded pork and green onion, adding Chinese napa cabbage and mushroom if you wish. I haven't made Baozi for a long time. But my friend Yi Hua Jie Mu is the king of Baozi. Every time he showed off his Baozi, it never failed to make my mouth watering. I attach a recent one below, so that you know what I am talking about and do the same along with me ～～

一般情況下, 費一次勁,包兩種餡,可以換著花樣吃,昨天素的,今天肉的,明天素的加肉的. 為了區分就包兩種形狀,  有哪位見到我二妹幫忙捎個話兒,實在不喜歡圓包子中間那塊厚, 改包麥穗形的吧, 不論你手法多好,中間那快多少會有點厚,  長形的就沒有這問題。 

He recommended making two kinds of baozi, vegetables baozi and meat baozi, so that one may eat them alternately each day. He also suggested making baozi in the oval shape, more tasting than the round shaped ones with thick knots in the middle.
