《You Raise Me Up》的曲子由神秘園樂隊成員羅爾夫·拉夫蘭（Rolf Løvland）創作，其部分旋律源自英國作家、主持人佛德裏克·韋舍裏在1910年創作的愛爾蘭傳統歌曲《丹尼男孩》（Danny Boy）。愛爾蘭作家布蘭登·格瑞翰（Brendan Graham）為曲子填詞。
