Raoul Pal說是曾主管衝擊基金GLG的Global Macro分塊，因本事過人，2004年36歲就功成身退，享福去了。現在又決定出山創業，給無數懵懵懂懂的股民指點指點如何發財。

 

 

他在自己的網站上說：

“The economy is subject to ebbs and flows of business, usually driven by the credit, inventory and investment cycles. It is these cycles that have caused booms and busts for thousands of years.”
“The framework is simple - no complex theoretical models or massive spreadsheets.”

 

他說宏觀經濟都是胡謅，大局是商業（business）、大宗商品（commodity）和債務（debt）三大周期，短期賺錢是在盯著商業（business）周期。

 

在美國Raoul Pal說體現商業周期最關鍵的經濟指數是美國的“企業采購主管指數”（即PMI，采購經理人指數，全稱Purchasing Manager Index），盡管這有個國際標準，美國自己有一套，叫ISM指數，由Institute of Supply Management統計，因此而名。這是Raoul Pal眾多圖標中的一幅：
