Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia, also known as Washington or D.C. or locally simply as the District, is the capital city and federal district of the United States. It is located on the east bank of the Potomac River, which forms its southwestern border with the state of Virginia, and shares a land border with the state of Maryland on its other sides. The city was named for George Washington, a Founding Father and the first president of the United States, and the federal district is named after Columbia, the female personification of the nation. As the seat of the U.S. federal government and several international organizations, the city is an important world political capital. It is one of the most visited cities in the U.S., with over 20 million annual visitors as of 2016.
在舒適的酒店住上一晚後,次日( 12月14日 )一早,我們又出發去著名景點“風之洞”( Cave of the Winds )觀賞尼亞加拉大瀑布的日間景象。“風之洞”是瀑布的觀景點之一,必須先乘電梯下到53米深處,然後每人穿上簡易雨衣,再觀看此處的瀑布,隻見該處路旁的樹枝上,結滿了冰,好一派霧凇景象!天氣雖很冷,但很開心。
American Falls,Bridal Veil Falls,Horseshoe Falls,白色天堂,在觀景台看完三個瀑布後,我們順著河緩緩前行,在導遊的引領下,探源溯流。
