We registered the Exploring Hands baby program at LAMP. It is a 5 week program. We go in once a week on Thursdays.Today we attended the first session. Today's topic is Community Resources. The Exploring Hands program is aimed at parents/caregivers with children 12 -18 months. Children begin this stage completely dependent, and leave it with a giant surge in independence. The main purpose of the program is to strength the bond between parents/caregivers and the child as they continue to investigate what is similar and different about eh way different things feel, smell, look, sound and taste.A healthy relationship between parents/caregivers is the foundation of his/her healthy development. This 1.5 hours program includs free play, circle time, sensory play, snack/discussion, and book time, followed with circle time to close the day.At the circle time, each parent/caregiver introduced themselves and their child, today my little one is exactly 14 months old.At the sensory play, children played, used the different food colouring popsicles to draw a picture. My little one actually draw two. They are her first drawings ever.Well done. From the discussions we exchanged with parents, I learned there is a paid baby music program that I can register on line www.funwithmusic.com . The parent who attended recommended it to us. I may go on line to check. It sounds fun. Also there was another parent who mentioned at 77 Brown's Line the national gymnastic centre has good program for the little ones to exert their boundless energy. I may check that one as well. I mentioned the Toronto Park And Forest programs such as swimming, skating etc.that we need to register on this coming Saturday. We loved the snacks they provided. There were yogurts, all kinds of diced fruits and pastry. My little one had a yogurt with some fruits. She picked the small diced fruits to feed herself.Circle time always was fun with many merry songs and the actions. We are looking forward to next week's program on March 7. It is a really good program that children can learn and have fun.
