Infant only car seats-rear facing only from birth to 22 lbs.

Infant/child car seats-forward facing-use when child is over one year of age, over 22 lbs and walking unassisted, if the child is over 22 lbs (under 35 lbs)but is under one year old and not yet walking unassisted, can use the same car seat but put it rear facing,harness child and secure seat as infant only car seats.

Child/booster seats-under 18 kgs(40 lbs)-use when child is over one year old, over 22 lbs and walking unassisted.If over 40 lbs, remove harness and tether straps and use as a booster seat.

Booster seat. some of them are available up to 100 lbs.

Booster seat is needed to position seat belt properly over child's body.

Motor vehicle collisions are the no.1 cause of injury-related deaths for Canadian children.

The correct use of a car seat can reduce the risk of injury or death by 75%.

To be effective,car seats must be installed properly and used correctly every time.

A driver can be fined and given two demerit points for not properly restraining passengers under age 16 in the vehicle.

Every passenger in a vehicle must be properly restrained, it is the law!
