Leaving sorrow behind
on China plane returning
Stepped I on U.S. soil
No more lecturing nor being lectured
I started anew bussing dishes
to feed others and myself

Tasting from food to learning
and blending the East with the West
I transformed myself
into a stepping stone
paving the bridge across
