阿爾貝特.史懷澤（AlbertSchweitzer）1875年1月14日生於阿爾薩斯，是管風琴演奏家和巴赫專家，他擁有哲學、神學、醫學博士學位。
史懷澤的前半生持有德國護照，一次世界大戰後，故鄉阿爾薩斯歸還法國，他成為法國人。年輕時他從事布道、學術、音樂工作，1913年和妻子去非洲法屬殖民地建立診所，為當地人服務，直到去世。
