It's not the certain food you eat directly causes diabetes. It's a lot more complicated than that. There are genetics, lifestyle, BMI and of course, back to the end, your overall diets. I had gestational diabetes during my last and third pregnancy. Unfortunately for someone like me who already has this disease, I must avoid eating certain foods. Noodles or pasta made of refined flour is one of them. Noodles are not healthy because they are made of starches. Starchy food causes blood sugar to spike a few hours after eating. Pizza is bad to me, too. But it has high calories so it could keep me afloat immediately. Noodles can't do that. At the moment of hypoglycemia, pizza wins.
I could make all kinds of handmade noodles but I have quit it for a while because of diabetes. It's strictly forbidden to eat food made with refined flour. So the only thing left is legumes. And Russian dark rye bread. Diabetes is not something I can control but diets is. Some of the food seems unavoidable. If you go to a party or on the road trip, sandwiches or pizza slices are the only things available. Are you gonna eat it? Of course. Low glucose is even more dangerous to diabetic patients than sugar spikes. Hypoglycemia causes death! But I would never ever go eat ramen anymore! Nothing else is more like a self indulgence to me than eating unhealthy food for the good tastes. Food is for survival. And preferably it's not killing you slowly like wheat noodles, white rice and wonder bread.
