When your consumption is reliant on "牌子", it means you are already 自卑和心虛. You are not consuming, you are trying to either cure your 自卑, or show off.
If you really believe in materialism (and I do), 牌子is a fart. A wealthy person does not need a 名牌 to show off his wealth (check Bill Gates). That's why all 名牌 are middle class products. They satisfy the wanna-bes, pure and simple.
Personally, the only consumptions that are really important are: travel and my living environment. Speed driving comes in a very very distant third. Of the 3, the first 2 have no 牌子 to follow anyway.
This, however, has nothing to do with being "一個有思想,有信仰,有價值觀,有能力的人". It's still materialism at the end of the day. Just that when you pursue materialism, don't confuse it with your own insecurity. At least, have some confidence to consume what you really want.

Very good saying. It doesn't matter with what kinds of stuff you have.
I'm glad that China hasn't followed some stupidity of America, such as the law banning liquor sales on Sunday in Georgia.
Can you guys believe, it is illegal to sell liquor on Sunday here in Atlanta, GA. Church goers say it's a Holy Day and selling liquor on Sunday is moral degredation.
I'd say keep your faith in your church, don't bring to my super market.
小說The Great Gatsby 裏開頭有句話是這麽寫的: "In my more vulnerable years, my father used to tell me: 'whenever you feel like to criticize someone, just remember of all the people, they might not have had the priveledges you have had."

LV is NOT 美國玩的!
Yeah, LV is the big IN for our Chinese sisters back home... i bought my first LV bag 13 years ago, haven't used it that much ever since, each time when i hear them talk about LV bag, how they can afford to buy a couple of them when they come over here, and i just mention that i had my first one so many years ago... i don't think they like to hear it....
