"Resulting" refers to the tendency to judge the quality of a decision solely based on its outcome, rather than considering the decision-making process itself, even if the outcome was influenced by luck or external factors; essentially, it means judging a decision based on the result you got, not the quality of the decision itself when making it.

You can have a good outcome despite a bad decision, and you can have a bad outcome even though the quality of your decision was good. This is what Annie Duke calls “resulting” in her book called Thinking In Bets.
