葉永青，男，1958年4月5日生於雲南昆明， [1] [30]畢業於四川美術學院，中國畫家、 [27]原四川美術學院教授、 [1] [37]知名策展人、藝術活動家、 [24]中國當代藝術研究院藝術總監及亞洲青年藝術現場藝術總監。 [5] [14]曾在北京等地舉辦個展， [1]畫作有《畫個鳥！》等。 [20]

1976年，葉永青高中畢業。在畢業後的兩年內，做過建築工等； [30]1978年，考入四川美術學院繪畫係油畫專業； [25]1982年，畢業後留校任教； [20] [29]1991年，作品入選中國當代藝術文獻資料展；1992年，獲“92中國油畫藝術展”優秀獎及首屆九十年代藝術雙年展優秀獎；1998年，開辦上河會館； [25]2001年，創作布麵油畫《鳥》； [1]2019年，比利時藝術家克裏斯蒂安·西爾萬指控葉永青30年不斷抄襲其作品。 [2] [18]同年3月7日，針對網上反映葉永青抄襲一事，四川美術學院發布聲明並調查。 [3]3月18日，葉永青在朋友圈否認“抄襲”； [4]2023年8月22日，北京知識產權法院一審判決被訴侵權畫作122幅，葉永青立即停止涉案侵權行為，並賠禮道歉，消除影響，向西爾萬支付人民幣500萬元； [13-16]2025年1月23日，《法治日報》第8版刊發一則葉永青署名的“道歉聲明”，稱尊重法院判定，誠懇接受批評，檢討教訓，並向西爾萬致以誠摯的道歉。

Chinese artist Ye Yonqging, whose work is collected by the likes of Bill Gates and Rupert Murdoch, has apologised after Beijing’s Intellectual Property Court upheld a 2023 ruling ordering him to pay Belgian artist Christian Silvain 5 million yuan (US$690,000) and apologise for plagiarism.

Silvain, 75, accused Ye, 67, of plagiarising 87 works of his over the past 25 years, in 2019.

The Belgian artist only found out about the plagiarism after a gallery owner in Amsterdam told him he had seen a “substandard” version of one of his paintings.
