My child is currently a sophomore at a university that is a target school for both investment banks and consulting firms. Her first career choice is MBB, with IB as a backup. The timeline for internship offers for IB in the summer of 2026 will be several months earlier than MBB's, and she is concerned that if she accepts an IB offer and later receives an MBB offer, turning down the IB internship after accepting it could result in being blacklisted by that particular IB firm. As a result, she is not applying for any IB positions. I am worried that she might end up with no internship offers from MBB, as their recruitment process is also highly competitive. Does she need to worry about the blacklist? Any suggestions please?
