Son's behavior reminds father's own sense of inadequacy.

 

That sense in turn induces fear.  To ease that fear, he blows up.

Ask him: do you want others to treat your son that way? Your son might get used to be treated that way, by you and people outside.

Give respect. Then demand respect in return.
