Sorry just realised that you may not be able to get the Oyster Card at Clapham Junction Station. At Gatwick, you should be able to buy single ticket to Swiss Cottage which will cover the underground journey as well. You will need to check where to interchange though. You can get your prepaid Oyster Card at Swiss Cottage underground station.
