(1) You must generally have at least two years' continuous service with your employer to qualify for a payment.
(2) The amount of redundancy pay will be calculated as –
0.5 week’s pay for each full year of service where age during year less than 22
1.0 week’s pay for each full year of service where age during year is 22 or above, but less than 41
1.5 weeks’ pay for each full year of service where age during year is 41+
(3) week pay is capped by 350
above is the statutory basic, some companies will offer more. The one month pay your friend has got is called the notice pay while he is not expeceted to work his notice.
