Always buy for the first year at closing for resale

It's not easy to get them to repair though.

They have all sorts of excuse to deny or restrict.

It's not about they are "bad", but that's their business model. If they repair for people easily, your yearly warranty cost will be much much higher and that will defeat the purpose and most people will choose not to even buy.

Even if they repair, they could ask you to pay a portion (on top of trip fee).

For appliances, the companies now charge trip fee for each item.
