finally we got power back 3am this morning.. we survived.....
so this totally unexpected storm, from the time it form on Lake Michigan to blast thru our area in less than 30 mins.
I was just arriving at the lake side rental my guys working about 2pm, sky was still beautiful blue and clear, 95 degree hot. I stopped and talk to my guys there for about 15 mins, and ready to pull out the drive way, suddenly sky turn pitch black, wind begin to pick up, then came 60 miles/hour wind like desert sand storm, water arise from the lake like sucking into the sky, we all think, omg, its a tornado, we better run fast.....
as we drove away, the street power line begin to sparkle like firework, hollyshit, the power line begin to fall, we speed up try to out run the storm, then came hail, and heave rain and roads are block by falling trees...
10 mins later, blue sky again, and we didn't even get 1/4 of inch of rain, then of course, power out for 3 days.
we had 2 generators, I had a small 2800watt one, normally I bring to clean properties, and the 4400watt I just bought and still in the box.
call my guy come to put the new one together, fire it up, the 4400 unit power about half the house, but we still have no water because it ran on 220v....
the storm cool down the temperature from 98 to 65 in 2 hours, we survive without AC the first night, but have to get water from lake to flush the toilet.....
Saturday, what the heck, what not just go away for few days, so we went to OH, visited a friend and airforce museum,
Sunday night, got home, still no power, wft, every other neighborhood now has lights, except our little island....
call utility company and ***** on everyone I talk to, finally got power back on 3am this morning...
