You may consider Oakhurst, CA Or Mariposa

I strongly recommend Oakhurst. It is only about 20 miles to the southern gate of Yosemite and takes half hour to get into the Yosemite Park from Oakhurst. I believe the best view point in Yosemite Park is Glacier Point, please do not miss it.

Bass Lake is very close to Oakhurst. You may have some water activities there. The water temperature in Bass Lake is very warm in the summer time (very strange!!!)
