As for these tiny shops in Malaga, you probably be fine if you pay cash. They are more prone to have credit information stealing. I used mine to pay a bottle of water in one of these shops once and the next three days being charged 100+ times with litte FACEBK Marking fees. Fortunately my credit card company waived them.
If you hail a 10 minutes cab further away from Malaga center to Pedregalejo beach, the beach scenes are quieter and better. There is a popular Qinrincinduo (google it if you never heard of it) restaurant called El Caleno that is quite popular and serve great open air fire grilled seafoods.
