Chinese people believe a book reader = an intellectual. Book reading is an superior thing, any others are inferior…. That’s why when we Chinese read a book, it has to be a big deal, to read a book for the sake of reading, while Americans read book just for fun, or try to learn something, get some information….which is more practical way, they can turn what they learn from the book into something really useful, or more beneficial

Your doctor must be Chinese….by the way…
