The Colorful, The Weird And The Magnificent
The last time we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium was more than 7 years ago when my daughter was about 6 months old and her little brother was still nowhere in sight. I remember she was way too young to appreciate the colorful wonder and pretty much slept through the whole tour.. - 一條彩褲的搭配
Now more than 7 years later, we stepped back in, and this time, with not one but two kids in tow. What a change!
Let me start with the ordinary kelp and a school of sardines..
I was, in fact, all of us were mesmerized by the delicate beauty of the jellyfishes..
Each one of them was so graceful and at ease with their exquisite folds and elegant tentacles in full display. I have no doubt that they will, if not already, inspire fashion designers and elements of the natural beauty of jellyfishes will, once again if not already, transpire on the runway..
The Aquarium offers a feast of colors for the eye..
These were the weird, yet I was completely amazed. Behold, the power of natural selection and the wonder of nature..
This time, no one fell asleep :-).
Both kids enjoyed every bit of it, and every point was a highlight. For my little boy, well, boys will always be boys, his highest highlight of the visit was at the splash zone where he played water gun fight with a group of other little kids. As usual, he was quickly assimilated, and at his suggestion, the group pretended it's an angry birds game but with water guns.. The funny thing was that he started addressing an older kid in the group "Sir", and the other kids followed suits.
Looking back, I could not help feeling time really flies. Look at my darling daughter from the first visit, when she was approaching 6 months old (here with Grandma inside the Aquarium)...
...to the second visit more than 7 years later (here waiting for her lunch at a McDonald's in Monterey just before getting into the Aquarium)..
And my boy from non-existence to this..
And Mommy went from this..
....to this..
Let's all enjoy every minute of every day..
