Baseball contracts are notoriously ludicrous. I don't think
anybody is worthy more than 1 million dollors per year by either swinging a bat or tossing a ball. Technically, they are scheduled to play 162 games a season but how hard to wander a designated position for several hours a day. Pitchers other than relievers play 25-30 games. I always think the traveling from city to city or from coast to coast is the most challenging part in their job.
It is all sport fans fault though. They transformed sport into money making business :)
