小男孩過了十三歲是個門檻嗎？

昨天看見一句話：

"You have a wonderful child. Then, when he is thirteen, gremlins carry him away and leave in his place a stranger who gives you not a moment's peace. "

為什麽會變成 stranger？ 不能理解..
