【七律】秋江皮劃艇

 

葉赤葉黃飄兩岸，秋光秋色滿雙堤。

沙泥雁爪魚為伴，皮艇蛇河鶴作妻。

二首短詩同漢外，一江秋水自東西。

白頭鷹動飛天起，唯有秋高落葉低。

 

蛇河： Snake River, 發源於黃石公園，從東至西，最終在華盛頓州匯入哥倫比亞河而入太平洋。

 

漢外： 漢語和外語(英語)。

 

Kayaking on the Autumn River

 

Red leaves, yellow leaves,

falling on both banks

where autumn is lightful,

its colors are plentiful.

 

Geese have left.

Their footprints on sandy mud.

Kayaking on Snake River.

Fish and herons are my only companions.

 

While down the river,

I have conceived two short poems,

one in Chinese, one in English,

with similar images and sentiments,

but the autumn water doesn't care,

listening not her desire,

just keeps flowing from east to west.

 

Bouncing up from a tall branch,

a big bird flies high

into the crisp autumn sky,

away from Earth where leaves die.

Maybe they're not really dead.

Fly and glide. Who am I?

Just an eagle with white head.
