by far... Most people, Westerner and Chinese alike, suppport Chua's parenting aprroach, to my surprise. Here is a good one:


 






 

There are an awful lot of similarities between the way Ms Chua is raising her children and the way kids were raised here in the past, leading to the most prosperous, creative and successful time in US history. Coincidence? Seems to me that there are far more pitfalls in lax parenting and coddling than there are in being more strict. Is creativity enhanced with video games and endless, mindless "entertainment". I doubt it. Does nurturing belong in the parental arsenal? Surely it does, but many parents want to be "friends"....instead of parents... and we as a nation are suffering because of it.
