When I woke up in the morning, raindrops still patted my tent. I got up and stepped out to scent fresh saps of the pine trees, and to my astonishment, a dog, which appeared lost or homeless, was running by. Struck with possibly even more astonishment when seeing me, the dog braced his fore feet, examing me. He might be wondering what I was up to in a place of nowhere. I quickly went back and picked up several pieces of bread. The dog was standing still when I came out. I then threw the bread toward him. The dog, trying to shake the raindrops off his back, jumped at the bread and rushed on. Now I heard trills of birds, which ushered in the day.
