Why am I still in love with you?
The tide had come,
flooded my beach 'n my life,
it ebbed away so quickly,
took with it my juvenility,
'n studded the sky with stars.

The same mountains, the same trees,
but my feet are not in yesterday's current.
Is is breezing with thin clouds scattered in the sky;
blooming wild lilies carpet the mountain ridge in twilight.
Under the moonlight, I wonder if ever somebody has been transformed into a laurel tree,
so as to avoid the pain of you being away?
