The phrase likely comes from the prospector's hope of "striking" a rich vein of gold during a gold rush.

A popular American radio and television game show where contestants with stories of woe would answer questions to win money. A "Heart Line" was also available for viewers to donate to the contestants. 

Star: Strike it Rich:
A Japanese manga series created by Yabako Sandrovich, known for its gritty, underground fight club setting, similar to his other works like Kengan Ashura. 

Strike it Rich (Magic: The Gathering):
A sorcery card from the Modern Horizons 2 set in Magic: The Gathering. The card has a Flashback ability and creates a Treasure token, which can be sacrificed to add mana to your mana pool. 

Strike It Rich (Board Game):
A family-friendly board game where players roll dice to move around a board in a classic game format.
