【Poem Reading Tuesday】The Star 英文詩和英文歌的節奏有關係嗎

 

 

There are several different types of meter based on the various patterns of stressed and unstressed syllables（Fig 3）

Trochee is the meter with stressed syllables followed by unstressed syllables. That is very similar to the music with a time signature of 2/4 （Fig 1） or 4/4（Fig 2）.

“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”is one of the best examples of this pattern.

Thanks you for your tiny spark,
He could not see which way to go,
If you did not twinkle so.

In the dark blue sky you keep,
And often thro' my curtains peep,
For you never shut your eye,

Lights the trav'ller in the dark:
Tho' I know not what you are,
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
