Halloween, in Retrospect

The wars are still going crazy.

There was a sudden increase of women

and children ghosts on the streets.

Let's all pray, starting this day,

simple treats can put away

tricks that cause tremendous

tragedy and dismay.

 

【七絕】萬聖節

世間戰亂正瘋魔，女鬼雲集幼鬼多。

但願人從今夜始，給糖便可息風波。

萬聖節

西方鬼節舞妖魔，感慨家山創意多。

魯迅先生言在耳，青年猶可望清波。

Halloween, in Playful Words

 

By godog

 

Joining the underworld

is welcomed by many ghosts.

 

Going back to the human world

is another story, because

it frightens people.

 

Tonight is an exception

for ghosts become childish and playful.

 

Interactions between humans and ghosts

are eased by friendly chanting

of “trick or treat”.

一入冥間萬聖迎，再回人世百家驚。

今宵眾鬼忽童稚，給賞能無搗亂聲。
