【E詩配畫】Molly Malone
Previously I had posted some of my British bone china pottery collections in the MYSJ【HobbyShow】event.
[HobbyShow] Royal Doulton bone china & porcelain collection
Here I present another porcelain doll from Royal Doulton, the British pottery comany, named Molly Malone and a poetry like song it based on.
Molly Malone is also designed by Sir. Leslie Harradine. (Arthur) Leslie Harradine (1887–1965) was one of Royal Doulton's premier, and most prolific, figurine modellers from 1920 until the mid-1950s.
Molly Malone, Size, 7 inch tall, Introduced,1931, Withdrawn:1938.
The figure is based on the traditional Irish folk song.
In Dublin's fair city
Where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she wheeled her wheelbarrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"
