A young social justice warrior

I met a young social justice warrior during my vacation on the Pacific coast last weekend. He's the older son of my friends' family who we stayed in our vacation house together. Their older son graduated from college last summer and started working in New York. Unfortunately two generations started talking about politics. The debate between the conservative and the liberal turned intense. The liberal social justice warrior claimed he was full of love for the people who are poor and discriminated. His juddgement on his father's convervative values is "Dumb and selfish". However, this young altruistic warrior never offered any help to his 60-year old during the whole stay. He spent a week with his friends in a nearby big city and left only two days to his parents although his dad paid all the cost of his travel. His behavior really puzzled me. I don't understand how a person who doesn't show appreciation and lover to his family will have true love available to other people.
