Today I am happy

Yesterday when I was informed that the school I attended years ago decided to offer me a masters degree after I had failed most of the courses still I was not happy,

When my manager showed me a piece of paper which stated a promotion and a salary increase as well as a big bonus still I was not happy,

And when I finally understood sorting, searching, tcp, udp, ip, icmp, ospf, isis, bgp, ethernet, wireless, bluetooth, u*****, cellular, still I was not happy,

But this morning when I got down to the kitchen I knew I would make myself a big breakfast: an egg, a sausage, a yogurt, an orange, a bell pepper, five slices of French bread, two slices of bacon, three slices of smoke cheese, and a glass of goat milk,

When I heard a bird sing, I sang with him, when I saw a rabbit run,  I run with him, when a squirrel jumped on the tree in front of my house, I started jumping with him, when a camel walked by, I walked with him, when a sheep sat resting by a boulder I walked over and sat with him,

And when I strolled on the beach, inhaling the salty fresh air, with surfers riding high on the waves and ships arriving at the port, I smiled and said hello to children, men and women, and also to the sand, the sea, and the rising sun--

O, she is on her way back, as the early morning wind whispered to me,  and now I will soon be putting my hand on her face, kissing her sun-tanned skin, smelling her breath, soothing her sour muscles, listening to her recount her days in that exotic place, and today I am happy.
