I also had the same question when I read the author’s comments on feudalism, so I searched the Internet and found something like this: the feudalism in Chinese history was not real feudalism in the strictest sense. But I did not try to understand why.   

I don’t agree with the author that age differences among school-age children play a role in academic success. Actually I think that, in the long run, girls are benefitted from starting school early.
