it is an excuse to protect yourself

after listening to your speech, they will come up with their own conclusions based on your story and theri own exprience. their conclusion can be very different from yours.

 

by stating your position, you cover your butt and let poeple know "I are aware of what I am talking about".

 

if somone I don't know behave like this,

first, I would think he has a bad day(had fight with his wife in the morning, critized by his father, lost some money), he is not himself today.
