Not sure if recount can be used this way as a noun. I think when used as a noun, it only means the recount in election, counting the numbers again. You are using the meaning of recount as a verb.

getting a bit nostalgia should be "nostalgic"? not completely sure. 

While trying to strike a casual conversation with my hairdresser, a song came on the radio, and it... I would add "I was" before "trying to"
