The writing exercise has stimulated great interest in this forum, as evidenced by the large number of comments followed. Therefore, this activity should be continued/resumed.

As most of you might have noticed, it requires a lot of energy/effort to provide critiques to each writing homework and at the same time, it is also very important for one to receive such critiques/comments for his/her homework in order to improve writing skills. Therefore I am proposing to post a paragraph of well-translated text in Chinese on the forum each Monday for us to translate it into English. On Fridays, the original work in English will be posted for us to compare with our own translation.

I happened to encounter an article titled “paper tiger” by Wesley Wang, published on a New York magazine, has generated great interests amongst Asian-American community.

As you guys have already found that it requires a lot of energy to make corrections. Without corrections, one may feel lacking guide to the right direction. Here I propose to put a paragraph of well translated Chinese text on Monday on the website for us to do the translation, the original English will be added on Friday to compare.
