Chinese philosophy is rather primitive despite 3000 years histor

I am not sure if Chinese know or agree on what the core doctrine of chinese civilization is. There are lots nice pieces in Chinese literature, but nothing really stands out or is simple and significant enough to teach children. The only priniciple I taught my children is Confucius's "Treat peole the way you want to be treated".
