China has no obligation to confront the West over Libya.

It is not like China has the power over the West and chose not to do it.  China needs to manage its chips carefully, even with the UN veto power.

China did the right thing.  The main issue is that China does not have the media (the soap box) to express its views and its agendas.

Even so, after all the talks, Libya is still not going to make a big difference for China.  What really on stake is China's involvement in AFRICA.  And that is what the West is targeting on, using Libya as an excuse and demonstration to the rest of the Africa Continent.
