I was there, fought with sodiers face on face. I felt sorry
for those soldiers even at that time. They were younger than I. I was in graduate school, they were just kids (teenagers). They just followed order. We did it for our ideal.
We (students) did it because we love the country, China. I don't think we want to hurt the country. But I didn't think we want to compromise. Basically we wanted the government to go down. We pushed it to the corner. Government did it for its duty: maintain order, and for its survive.
The problem comes from both sides didn't want to compromise. Then they had to crash. That's something we have to learn. In US, every bills passed in congress is not perfect for anybody, because it's the result of compromising. Demacratic process is the process of compromising.
The same is true for a marriage. A good marriage comes from compromising. A bad one: two sides crash.
