I don't think Japanese people have anything special

I had a classmate when I was at Georgia Tech. He's nice and smart, but I was already an American citizen and spoke perfect English, he wouldn't ever relate me as someone came from China. I don't really care about the past anymore. One thing strange is this seemingly open minded person didn't want to date anyone in the U.S, even though we were both single and open for relationships.

I don't think he understood that dating someone didn't mean they must have a long term relationship, it just means they like each other at that moment. I would say Japanese are still a lot more conservative than Americans are. I've adopted the American attitude towards dating and sex. I think if the couple might feel happy and are single, there's no restrictions in having relationships, and it could be just one day, one month or forever, depending on the circumstances. I had no long term plans either but I was willing to give it a try. So I was pretty disappointed at his demured hmm and ah... and I was like, why did you feel ok to have meals and drink together then? Most people would be happy to gear towards the next step. Why not?

I bet this guy had no plan to stay longer so I've never met or heard from him again after graduation.

That's the only Japanese guy I've ever met in real life. Sometime I would be poundering about him. He looked like a child, short sized and joyous, but inside of him is a very old man! He's so calculated and shrewd. Maybe that's how they are as a group?
